Hello, I'm Diya!
I'm a passionate undergraduate student and aspiring surgeon-scientist interested in pursuing a career in medicine, combining clinical practice with research to enhance patient care. I have diverse experience in leadership, volunteering, and research, specifically focused on RNA-binding proteins, and have presented my work at major symposia. I'm deeply committed to making a positive impact both academically and within the community.
Currently, I'm working full-time as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) at the Children's Hospital in Richmond. I'm also an undergraduate research student at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute, volunteer at mulavney lab focusing on identifying candidate resistance pathways through genomic and transcriptomic analysis.
You can read more about my career journey and goals in this featured media article Next Up: Surgeon-Scientist.
I'm currently working on an exciting project to develop an AI-powered clinical trial matching system with my friend. You can check out our latest demo here!
